Winter Storm of 1-29-2010

Just a couple of days ago we had the first ice storm in years for here in the Wayne County, Tennessee area.  We are very lucky that the storm wasn’t worse than it was.  We had about a quarter of an inch of ice and over an inch of snow.  The northern part of the county had much more snow than just an inch (7 inches).  We had widespread power outages across the county for a few hours and in some places for days.  This was much better than the last ice storm that I have heard about.  I was just a small child when we had the big ice storm in the 90s which brought many trees and power lines down.  They said that the power was off about 2 weeks in my area.  Thankfully we did not have problems that bad from this storm.  It seems like everyone is ready for the spring season to get here.  It will be here in only a couple of months!
